Similar to the yin & yang symbol, the sun and moon together symbolize the balance of energies. The moon is regarded as the female energy of calm insight and compassion. The sun is seen as the male energy of a bright mind bringing clarity. In Nepal, they are shown together to represent these two different energies working together within all of us.
