Gorgeously scented incense cones, handmade on the Sri Aurobindo ashram in Pondicherry, India. Each box includes 14 incense cones and small, handmade terracotta disc for burning.
The ashram, opened in 1926, has been hand making beautiful incense for decades. It's known not only for the quality of its incense, but also for the excellent working conditions and benefits it provides, especially for women.
Aurobindo incense cones are made of a paste consisting of the powders of dried flower petals, sweet smelling herbs and woods, spices, resins, charcoal which is an excellent burning material and perfumes based on Natural Essential Oils.
All ingredients are carefully handpicked in a skilled, manual process that creates the unique scents of Aurobindo. These ingredients are mixed with water to form a paste. The paste is then filled into cone moulds and left to dry. After drying the cones are selected and perfumed. In case of Sandalwood and Frankincense scents, the perfumes and essential oils are mixed in the paste itself and no further perfuming is needed.
